The 2009 of the KPWT SUPERKITE BRAZIL was dominated by Kari Schibevaag on the Wave competition and by Karolina Winkowska on the freestyle.

On the freestyle competition, Karolina Winkowska (POL, NAISH), who was placed second after the single elimination, fought off the challenge of Gisela Pulido (SPA, AIRUSH) and went on to push Susi Mai (GER, CABRINHA) to her limits for the top spot.

She won the first heat against Susi and forced her into another great final heat. She went on to take the Women’s freestyle title here in Cumbuco and her first on the KPWT.

The Wave master ladies competition saw Jalou Langeree (HOL, NAISH) against Gisela Pulido (SPA, AIRUSH) for the podium spot. Jalou rode well and edged Gisela off the podium to take on Kirsty Jones (UK, NORTH) for second position.
Kirsty was not going to give her spot away to easily and showed why she is the World Champion in this discipline ending Jalou’s hopes.

Kirsty went on to challenge Kari Schibevaag (NOR, OZONE). The wind had dropped off a little and both riders did their best to score as much as possible. The judges were scoring the 2 best waves over 8minute heats and Kari selected well. She held onto her top spot on the podium and has now really put herself in a great position to challenge Kirsty for the overall title in this discipline.

On the men’s competition, the local Evandro Da Silva (BRA, RRD) won the freestyle and Jan Marcos Riveras (DOM REP, STARKITES) won the Wave Masters.
