Snowboarder and ROXY Team Rider Torah Bright walks the red carpet after getting beautiful in NYC. Armed with a microphone she also interviews star of Art of Flight, Travis Rice – her fellow snowboarder and good friend.

Friend of Roxy, Quiksilver rider Travis Rice, released his new snowboard movie in September 2011. “The Art of Flight” is a follow up from the producers of “That’s it, That’s All” and features Travis Rice along with 8 of his snowboard buddies in a global trot from Jackson Hole, Alaska, Aspen, Patagonia and to British Columbia, to name a few. We asked (more like begged and pleaded) our brothers at Quiksilver to see if they could somehow help us get into this awesome premiere.

Known as the most progressive female rider on the slopes, Torah Bright recently took home the gold in the snowboard halfpipe event at the Vancouver 2010 Games. A globally recognized athlete, she was the first Roxy rider to launch her own signature collection, the Roxy Bright Edition during the 2008/2009 winter. She is also a two-time Winter X Games gold medalist in the snowboard halfpipe.

Bright’s future plans include filming a new snowboard movie, re-entering competitive slopestyle and perfecting her backcountry riding. Bright will also be focusing on expanding her technical skills and advancing her tricks in the halfpipe in anticipation for the 2014 Olympics in Russia where the Australian native will try for her second piece of Olympic gold. Bright will be competing in the upcoming 2011 Winter X Games in Aspen.

Roxy have released the first episode of 2010/2011 Roxy Refreshments.

This first episode follows Erin Comstock heading to Helsinki, Finland to snowboard with local rider, Heikki Sorsa.

The first episode of the Roxy Refreshment series was released on last Tuesday. Since now Roxy will be dropping a new short chronicling their adventures across the world last season.

Each snowboard season features two Jams: one in North America at Mammoth Mountain, and a European event held this year in Saalbach Hinterklemm, Austria. The Roxy Chicken Jam in Austria runs January 8-10, 2010, while the event in the United States runs March 25-28, 2010, crowning the Swatch TTR Women’s World Champion.

This year the weekend-long event at Mammoth Mountain will feature the all women’s professional snowboard Slopestyle and Superpipe competitions, as well as a free festival area with games and goodies. Roxy snow team riders Torah Bright, Amber Stackhouse, Lisa Wiik and Kjersti Buaas, along with snowboarders Jaime Anderson, Kelly Clark and Elena Hight will compete for the title and the $50,000 prize purse.

The Roxy Chicken Jam includes an open-registration Qualifier round for amateur snowboarders to compete for one of five spots in the Roxy Chicken Jam Main Event alongside the top pros.

In addition to the 6-star superpipe and slopestyle competition, spectators will again enjoy a huge free concert in the Village at Mammoth featuring The Bravery and N.A.S.A.

In this little interview below Bright talks about how she was able to overcome her disastrous first run, talking to Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd immediately after finding out she won gold and how she has been celebrating her historic Olympic moment.
