For the second consecutive year, Quiksilver and Roxy are running their Green Campaign, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving our water resources.

Under a wonderful slogan “Don’t Destroy What You Came To Enjoy “ a host of initiatives ranging from eco-design and environmental management, to awareness-raising events and partnerships with various associations are being held by the brand.

June is set to be the “Green month” at all the Quiksilver’s stores so around a hundred of eco-friendly products will take centre stage. Quiksilver and Roxy are also launching a new pen, the “B2P” (Bottle to Pen), made from recycled PET and sold with a message bracelet as a sign of its commitment. Its rounded and striated design resembles a bottle of mineral water. It’s available for 4€ each at all stores.

For every eco-friendly product sold, 1€ will go towards developing projects run by Quiksilver partner eco- associations. last years campaign raised over €80,000 to support organisations such as CŒUR DE FORET and Surfrider Foundation.

There is also a competition held by Quiksilver and Roxy in which you post videos, drawings and photos illustrating your vision of the theme “Don’t Destroy What You Came To Enjoy” and the concept of the solid green line. Winning entries must show creativity and imagination! The winning photo will be the one that garners most votes from Internet-users in a one-click voting system.

The winner will receive a fantastic longboard eco-designed by Notox in France, along with a cheque of 1,000€ made out to one of the three associations partnering the Green Campaign.

Get green.

a range of technical and ethical products; sun screens, energy drinks, soothing gels that meet all surfers needs: before, during and after surf session.

SeventyOne Percent is a French Surf Care company founded by three friends with common passion for surfing. Their idea was simple and brilliant at the same time. They created a range of technical products; sun screens, energy drinks, soothing gels that meet all surfers needs: before, during and after surf session. Surfing, after all is a physically demanding, extreme sport and athletes need to prepare themselves for the sessions, protect from the sun, salt water and sometimes extreme temperatures and of course need to recover after that. SeventyOne Percent provides you with everything you need.

It is also an ethical brand. Their products are paraben-free and they are being manufactured with the respect for the environment. The company joined the Surfrider Foundation to help preserve our coasts and oceans. Each time you buy some of their products they donate 1% of the profit to the association. Actually that’s where the name comes from. “Seventy” because 70% of the earth is covered with water and “one” because 1% of company’s income goes to the preservation of our oceans.

They are green, innovative and they constantly research for improvement.

There are 3 ranges of products: Energy, Solar and Care.

Energy is a supplement, made of guarana, apple, acai and honey, that provides energy for your surf sessions.

Solar are 2 sunscreens with high degree of protection (SPF 50+ and SPF 30) and excellent water, wind and salt resistance to ensure riders high level of protection.

Care range consist of 3 products:

After Surf Cream: After being exposed to sun, salt, cold and wind not only you but also your skin gets dehydrated. This product will provide you hydration, softness and comfort you need. Light cream absorbs quickly and you can use it on your face and you body.

Healing Swell gel : Regenerates cells, heals and moisturizes the skin lesions. Made from 100% pure and organic Aloe Vera juice (straight from the Canary Islands) that guarantees an optimal skin repair and restoration.

Wipe Out Gel: The surf like every other sport requires physical effort. The arms, elbows, shoulders and knees are constantly stressed. This gel upon application immediately calms the muscles and joints due to the cryotherapy effect.

Surfrider Foundation have launched the first website dedicated to the knowledge about coast and oceans called Beachapedia.

Beachapedia tries to capture decades of experience and knowledge gained by Surfrider Foundation activists, scientists and staff through hundreds of environmental and educational campaigns on our coasts. By sharing this resource with the public we hope to provide tools and information to help communities make a positive impact on their local beaches.
