3 Killas y Un Kiwi is the first video of its kind, an introduction of Latin American female surfing to the world. Surfing world champion Sofia Mulanovich from Peru, Simone Zea from Venezuela, and Ornella Pellizzari from Argentina lead an army of shredders that carve their way through waves and life.

Even though Sofia Mulanovich paved the way for Latin American girls, it is still a tough road to follow. Since most of the talent goes unnoticed we decided it was time to share their skills with the rest of the world. Latin America is not the only place were female surfing has not received the international recognition it deserves.

Paige Hareb from New Zealand is one of the few women who surfs in her country, therefore we decided to add a little sweet and tasty flavor to our mix and invite a Kiwi to participate in this adventure. With their strength, talent and beauty these women will be a great inspiration to any young girl watching.

Shot on great locations such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, Puerto Rico, California and Hawaii the diversity of images is a gift to the eye.

After having already spent 2 years on the WQS circuit, Pauline Ado rejoins the rare list of Europeans to qualify for the ASP Womens World Tour. Pauline feels more confident having achieved a good result at Snapper during the first leg of the 2011 season. She was knocked out in Round 4 by the young Tyler Wright (AUS) but she should congratulate herself all the same on beating Sofia Mulanovich and Rebecca Woods.

Pauline and her rivals are surfing seven world class waves; from Australia to New Zealand, Brazil, Europe and Hawaii. A series of 8, 6-minute films depicts the daily life of Pauline Ado, a French athlete with a grasp on the world title. Each episode takes place during the competitions and illustrates the sporting life as well as the personal life of this pro surfer on the tour

After the inaugural edition of the Swatch Girls Pro France last year the world elite of surfing females is coming back to the coast of Hossegor and Seignosse.

From 1st to 5th June, the second edition will set the stage for the world’s best female surfers along the shores of some of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. More than 100 world-class athletes are expected to turn out for the event, with high-performance radical surfing at the top of the agenda for a 100% female extravaganza.

Among the world’s elite invited to the second edition of the SWATCH GIRLS PRO FRANCE, will be none other than 4-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore. Other serious contenders will include Coco Ho, Alana Blanchard, Bethany Hamilton, Pauline Ado, Sofia Mulanovich.

The SWATCH GIRLS PRO FRANCE is the only 6-star event to take place in France.

Current world number two Sally Fitzgibbons, a previous multiple winner at portuguese events, along with Billabong’s Paige Hareb and Courtney Conlogue and some of the top women’s surfers, including former World Champion Sofia Mulanovich and young guns such as Coco Ho, Tyler Wright, Laura Enever (World Junior Champion), Alana Blanchard, Bethany Hamilton or Lee-Ann Curren, alongside local Portuguese surfers like Billabong team rider Joana Rocha and 2009 WQS number 20 Francisca Pereira dos Santos, will all be looking to do well this year at the event.

Those ancient surfboards are far more difficult to control than a regular surfboard. Take look at the video.

Reigning three-time ASP Women’s champ, Steph Gilmore, won the Rip Curl Women’s Pro in Victoria, Australia, last weekend.

Gilmore pipped 2004′s world champion Sofia Mulanovich, to win the second event on the ASP tour, in a tense final.

Gilmore says: “I’m a bit overwhelmed by this. To ring the bell once is an amazing feeling, but three times? I don’t think the gravity of it has sunk in yet. It’s an incredible event and I feel very fortunate to have achieved such success here so far.”

Mulanovich suffered a neck injury in round three but managed to power on nonetheless. It looks like she may give Gilmore a run for her money on the 2010 ASP world tour. She says: “I’m not at my 100 per cent but I’m just stoked to make it to the finals… Hopefully it feels better before the next event.”

Silvana Lima finished in second, followed by Sofia Mulanovich, Coco Ho and Sally Fitzgibbons.
