New York skate company 5Boro have recently a short skate video shot in the city that never sleeps called “Holiday Clip.”

It shows skateboarders such as of Jimmy McDonald, Willy Akers and Dan Pensyl skateboarding through the concrete jungle.

Beautiful shots of famous New York New York with it’s skateboarding spots.

Quiksilver have just released a short video called “There’s No Waves in New York?”

The video sees the residents of the Five Borough’s giving their take on the surf potential of the city hence the title.

After seeing waves at Balaram Stack in Long Beach just 30 minutes from Manhattan it’s easy to say they are absolutely wrong.

Long Beach will be hosting ASP World Tour competition, Quiksilver Pro New York, taking place from September 1 – 8.

“Facing the Impossible” is the outcome of Impossible Project ambitions to bring back analog instant photography.

The exhibition which opened in New York on 425 Broadway, 5th floor on December 15 presents portraits taken on new Impossible films by photographers Adam Goldberg, Adarsha Benjamin, Chloe Aftel, Irène Nam, Jen Altman, Lou O’Bedlam, Mikael Kennedy, Patrick Winfield, Rommel Pecson, The Gentlemen Amateur, Thibault Tourmente and Tim Mantoani.

They all had to deal with the portrait topic on Impossible PX 600 Silver Shade UV+ and PX 70 Color Shade PUSH! film to create their Impossible portraits.

‘Crisis of Capitalism’ animation

Social progress charity RSA have released an animated video based on a lecture on the inherent flaws of capitalism by David Harvey, a Professor of Anthropology at the City University of New York. The video proves that contemporary economic structure is unsustainable.

David Harvey stresses the importance of discussion in search for a new economic model.

“We have a duty to change our mode of thinking,” says Harvey.

Aakash Nihalani ‘Stop, Pop and Roll’ street art project

New York street artist Aakash Nihalani has posted a video of his recent installation street art project. It took place on the streets of Brooklyn. Hopefully we will be able to experience this sort of initiatives more and more frequently. They make streets more enjoyable and interesting. Have a look!
