The trailer to Juan Rayos’s Endless Roads – Roadtrip in Spain with the Longboard Girls Crew is finally online. From what we saw it surely is going to be epic. First episode of the movie will be coming out in October. Can’t wait!!!!

7 female riders, 1 van, 15 days, 4,300km, 416 GB of raw material… culminating in one video, divided into four chapters. The film documents the adventure of the trip, portraying the girls, their lifestyle and their passion for longboard.

Pirate Movie Production have just released the teaser to their new film “Bottom Line”.

After 10 years of making snowboard movies the crew have decided to change things and make the switch from shooting in Super 8 and 16mm to the wonders of 16:9 widescreen! This year’s project is called “Bottom Line” and it represents the best of Euro shred and brings you creative urban riding as well as mad backcountry slaughtering.

“That first glide” is an inspirational tale about the history of Stand Up Paddle.

The sport seems to have popped up out of nowhere. The truth is that it has deep roots in both early Polynesian and Hawaiian History as it is truly a combination of outrigger paddling and surfing.

The first regular Stand Up Paddle enthusiasts were playing around in Waikiki as early as 1939. Later, in the 60′s and 70′s guys like John Ah Choy and John Zapotocki used to do the sport regularly up into the late 90′s until they finally were getting to old to keep surfing.

Around that Same time, Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama played around with paddles on Maui and although at first no one seemed to take notice, it wasn’t long before the sport was attracting all sorts of users from all over the world.

Now, Stand Up Paddling is done almost everwhere there is water, and the sport has gone in multiple directions. Some people like the excercise and weight loss aspects in flat water, others like to race, and the most extreme are taking the boards out into the waves.

Filmed in Hawaii, Fiji, and Tahiti, That First Glide is a must see movie for everyone and features most of the premier athletes that got the sport off the ground.

180° SOUTH is the story of one of the most unique and prolific environmentalists of our time -Yvon Chouinard. Rather than re-living Yvon’s story through old photos and his life’s work with pie charts, 180° SOUTH weaves Chouinard’s tale through a modern day expedition.

This expedition was inspired by the rumor of a legendary trip in 1968 and the proof that came with it when the lost cans of film that documented the trip were recently discovered. The old footage captures Chouinard and best friend Doug Tompkins in 1968 as they explore untouched mountain ranges and un-surfed coastline on a 5000 mile expedition from California to deep Patagonia. For the two men, the original ’68 adventure still stands as “the trip of our lives.”

A young American adventurer named Jeff Johnson happened upon the footage in 1990 and spent the next ten years of his life dreaming of following their footsteps south. In 2007, Jeff dropped everything to finally fulfill his dream. He set out to follow Chouinard’s classic route on what became a six month traverse of North and South America. His hope is simply to find unclimbed mountains and un-ridden waves in the spirit of his heroes. However, as he travels, his eyes open up to the see environmental disasters that threaten these places as well as the human triumphs that are working to save them.

The epic search to unravel surfings great mystery who started the Shortboard Revolution?

Was it as legend has it, the Hawaiians with their giant waves and proud Polynesian tradition, or the Californians, who continue to be the commercial machine of modern surfing?

Or was it the brainchild of Australian surfing legend and surfboard designer Bob McTavish, collaborating with American expat, George Greenough.

Going Vertical tries to unravel this mystery.
