‘The Seaglass Project’ is a collab between Tom Wegener and Global Surf Industries. Tom has been experimenting with a combination of ancient knowledge, modern material theory and an elite team of forward thinking surfers to bring us The Seaglass Project Tuna

The Tuna and Mini Tuna are finless Alaia boards build with the finest materials and technologies. The Tunas are such a perfect blend of the proper flex, rail and bottom contours combined with modern materials to increase floatation, that they no longer require fins to surf and are rapidly changing the way we understand surfboard design and our surfing experience.

The Tuna’s rocker profile is very flat so it is easy to catch waves. The combination of the gentle curves and hard rails holds the board into the wave face. The Tuna’s speed is incredible even on the smallest waves! With the Tuna in your quiver you will look at the surf in an entirely different way, seeing waves that are fun and rip-able where you did not see them before! It will truly open your mind and your surfing.

After testing and refining Tom Wegener shapes with his team of open-minded surfers, we bring you the next chapter in surfing, The Seaglass Project.
The Seaglass Project is changing the definition of what we ride, how we ride and where we will want to ride in the future. With unbelievable partners like Tom on board, we cannot imagine the doors The Seaglass Project Tunas have opened. History is in the making.

Matuse Sophia Jacket features

Hour Glass Panel: The hour glass chest panel not only provides a naturally contoured fit on the bodice but also adds an extra bit of curvy flow to your already stylish lines on the wave.

Hydrasil Nylon: Silky smooth, hydrophibic (i.e. rejects H2O) material that’s your windbreaker in the water. Makes you feel all buttery inside.

Geoprene Stategic Paneling: Super-low modulus, max-flex Geoprene that keeps the body’s thermostatic line balanced (i.e. you don’t get hot and tired from fighting your suit or cold and bitter from that oil-based neoprene).

Mini back-zip: The mini back-zip maximizes your ease-of-entry while minimizing water-entry.

Titanium Coated Geopreme texture skin on core: Provides board traction and makes you bulletproof—at least against the wind and cold.

100% Glued and blind stitched seams: Provides durability, flexibility and cushy warmth for your skin.

It features riders such as Torstein Horgmo and Sondre Tiller but what it most remarkable is the crazy post-production effects.

The director Tobias Frøystad says “Like sand and wind erodes historical monuments and landscapes throughout the centuries, so does the freshness and fun in the upcoming DC snow vid erode away your historical preconceptions of everything you know about entertainment value.”

"Dark side of the lens" is a short film from surf photographer Mickey Smith.

“Dark side of the lens” is a short film from surf photographer Mickey Smith.

The film takes a look on the west coast of Ireland and is a part of the Relentless Energy’s Short Stories Contest in which 4 young UK sport filmmakers were given £4000 to create a short five minute movie starring one of the brand’s athletes and to evoke their slogan of ‘No Half Measures’.

“Originally I planned for the film to be more anonymous, rather than biographical, an all encompassing piece, to represent the photographers keeping the surfing machine afloat”, explains Smith.

Something that offers insight into what it takes to grind out a living as a water-based photographer in the surfing industry: a short experimental glimpse at a life lived in the shadow of obsessive photographic pursuits.”

“It also gave me the chance to ask myself a few questions, like, if you’re always observing and documenting what you see and experience, are you ever truly present? Questions like that where I could step back think and then see what the answers were”, Smith says.

The winner of this contest is being decided in December and will win a further £4000.

New Zealand snow community Winter Volume have just posted the third of their Diaries Down Under snowboard videos.

This episode they take Jye Kearney and Sam Hulbert four wheel motorbiking with offroad adventures and then suprise both of them by chucking them off NZ’s highest bungy jump ‘The Nevis’! After a mellow day shredding the next day we head to the Parklife invitational rail jam in town followed by one crazy night out in Queenstown.
