After Kien Lam quit his job last year he packed a bag, grabbed his camera and bought a one way ticket to London. 17 countries and almost a year later he put together this time lapse video of the many amazing places he came across.

Filmmaker Sébastien Montaz-Rosset has just made his documentary film “I Believe I Can Fly” available for download for a symbolic donation.

The film features four French pioneers called the Skyliners. Their sport involves climbing mountains, setting up slacklines between skyscrapers, playing on them and then jumping off.

It follows them from their training ground of the Verdon gorge in Chamonix to the skyscrapers of Paris, and finally to the spectacular cliffs and fjords of Norway.

Glassy waves, swaying palm trees, shorts and bikinis, a dream of a careless lifestyle somewhere far and warm spring to mind when you think of surfing. But how does this image fit in with that of Finland?

You are covered with frost and it is snowing. A few minus degrees are multiplied by the freezing onshore wind blowing at 30 m/s. A man changes into a 6mm wetsuit in the heavy storm, and heads towards the roaring waves. The temperature of the seawater is close to zero. It’s freezing outside. What the hell..?

FinnSurf is the world’s first Finnish surf film. It’s a freezing, and at the same time warm documentary of surfboarding in Finland, and in some other places as well. A film about true love and a passion larger than life. Escaping boring life and not regretting later. Winning yours fears. Aiming for balance, peace of mind and harmony. Relaxedness and pleasure. World where the life is dream and dream is everyday life. FinnSurf tells a story of five Finnish surfers. Everyone has their own point of view on surfing, Finland and surfing in Finland.

Here’s a selection of northern lights talented people from Flatlight Films filmed during the winter 2011 in several locations in the Finnish Lapland. It’s filmed with DSLR cameras with timelapse technique and with remote pan/tilt heads.

The movie calld “Aurora Borealis” have been made for Visit Finland Tourist Board.

It’s absolutely stunning.
